Playing at “Little Prince Kids Cafe” (Video)

Posted on December 7, 2010 - by Bradley Hebdon

We decided to try out an Asian Fusion restaurant called “Little Prince Kids Cafe”. The real twist here is the playground.. where kids can run wild while parents sit down and eat.  Sounded like a win-win to us… but since Natalie can’t walk yet, we had to watch her. But to those who do have walking children, you can pay $8 and have them watched by babysitters. Check them out on Yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/little-prince-kids-cafe-buena-park

Trying to eat a little snack (Video)

Natalie loves these little “graduates” snacks. They’re pretty bland, and they teach hand-eye co-ordination and chewing 101.  She’s improving each day, leaving fewer and fewer on her clothes/floor/etc.

Max decides to kill Natalie’s toy dog (Video)

Posted on June 14, 2010 - by Bradley Hebdon

I guess this is what you get when you decide to turn on a toy dog. “Turn on” referring to both the act of inserting batteries, and attacking the defenseless.  The debate continues…. whose toy is it really: Max’s or Natalie’s.

And we have lift off… (Video)

Natalie really loves her new jumper. Turns out to be the perfect workout/activity, considering she’s always wanting to stand anyway. Those strong little legs.. we’re going to have to keep an eye on her or she might enter a low orbit.

Natalie in her tutu (Video)

Natalie really loved her tutu! Eating, flopping, shaking, pulling, ruffling… the only thing she didn’t do was take it for a spin on the dance floor. Now that will have to wait for a year or so… and might very include a pair of mom’s high-heals.

Her Highness in her Highchair (Video)

Natalie tries out her highchair and watches over her domain. While getting used to her new vantage point, she also figures out the mechanics of “spoon entering mouth”, and takes satisfaction with the subsequent sloppiness. It’s good to be queen and full.

Trying out food for the first time (Video)

After getting her 4 month checkup, the doc said we should try introducing baby rice cereal into her diet. And so for the first time, Natalie tries out solid food. Can’t say it’s love at first taste– it looks like we’re going to have to ease her into this one.  Notice how the spoon acts as a magnet as it repels her away from itself.

Oh, and while on the topic of food – she weighed in at 15 lbs 12 ounces. That translates to her being heavier than 95% of other 4 month old baby girls.

Trying to talk (Video)

Posted on March 16, 2010 - by Bradley Hebdon

Natalie tries to talk in her swing. Seems like she’s trying to explain what she’s looking at. Either way, at just over 3 months old, she’s really started to become a lot more vocal. (Not counting the usual quota of crying.)

Natalie’s first visit to the Long Beach Aquarium (Video)

Posted on March 2, 2010 - by Bradley Hebdon

Natalie checks out the fish at the Long Beach Aquarium, from within the comfortable confines and perspective of a BABYBJÖRN. At almost 3 months old, she was completely awake throughout the tour and fixated on the fish. We highly recommend fish as a way to stimulate a baby’s eyes and brain. The fishes bright colors and movement within the bubbling water, combined to create a calm yet vibrant visual experience.  Also, the aquarium is a social setting packed with activity, chatter and excitement. We also suggest getting the annual pass for $80 — you’ll definitely want to make many return trips throughout the year. Check their site out here, and watch the videos below:

Sneezes, Coo’s and Smiles (Video)

Natalie has finally started smiling more and frowning less. The smiling actually started around 6 weeks, but this was the first time we caught it on “film” (at around 9 weeks). She’s also trying to talk — not quite sure what she’s attempting to say, but it’s expression never-the-less. Finally something for US to smile about, after we’ve been dragged down colic street.

A 7 week old Natalie enjoying a nice warm bath before bed.  Something we’ve definitely noticed is how she opens her mouth when enjoying something.  Also, take a look at the amusing video below.

At 6 weeks old, Natalie is really starting to focus and track moving objects now. Here she’s in her Rainforest Swing checking out the rotating toucan, monkey etc above her. Also a great way to calm the dreaded colic.
