Easter Egg Hunt

We celebrated Spring and Easter with an egg hunt and egg painting party and Natalie took to her first hunt like a natural.

Mommy & Daughter Photo-shoot

A rainy patch of weather forced us indoors… and here we are making the most out of the inconvenience.  Natalie is 16 months old here.

Birthday Girl! We celebrate Natalie’s first

Birthday Girl! We celebrate Natalie’s first

We celebrated Natalie’s birthday a little early, and fortunately for all of us November treated us to a 75 degree Saturday. We rented a “bounce-house” (inflatable prison) which turned out to be a big hit for the kids (and adults).  The kids also participated in calmer activities which included decorating homemade cupcakes (thanks to Mom and Grandma for baking them), and signing a giant handmade birthday card for Natalie. Thanks to everyone for coming and making the day so special for us.

A first Halloween

A first Halloween

Natalie dressed up as a butterfly for her first Halloween. We were so excited to take her out for “trick or treating” on Second Street in Belmont Shores. We met up with Dawn, Kathy and Janel… and ran into many little munchkins along the way. Surprisingly, Natalie seemed to like her costume and didn’t try to remove it. It probably had something to do with all the attention she was getting.

Trying out her new car

Trying out her new car

As an alternative means of transport from her stroller, Natalie enjoys her little car. Not only that, but her new matching Winter outfit too. We purchased the jacket from a store called “Naartije Kids” – which turns out to be a South African success story. She’s 10 and a half months old here.

Visiting the Pumpkin Patch

Visiting the Pumpkin Patch

We met up with Janel and family at a local pumpkin patch. Natalie seemed more interested in the straw than the pumpkins, but had fun nevertheless. Halloween’s just around the corner now!

Party time

Natalie attends her first party… happy birthday Lucas (who happens to be 4).

Nine months later…

Nine months later…

Natalie steals uncle Garrick’s phone and gets up to some digital mischief.

The three kids…

Apparently it’s more comfortable to stand and watch TV.

Exploring the labyrinth of chair and table legs.

“Duck”… Natalie’s first word. Thanks to Yvonne and Megan for cute outfit! Definitely one of her favorites this past hellishly hot week.

…still getting up to digital mischief.. albeit the more slobbery kind.

Confident little Crawler

Confident little Crawler

At 7 and a half months, Natalie is gaining confidence in her new found mobility. Whether it be wriggling around the floor, crawling or taking a few steps (assisted), she’s taking great pride in her abilities.

And we have lift off… (Video)

Natalie really loves her new jumper. Turns out to be the perfect workout/activity, considering she’s always wanting to stand anyway. Those strong little legs.. we’re going to have to keep an eye on her or she might enter a low orbit.

Natalie in her tutu (Video)

Natalie really loved her tutu! Eating, flopping, shaking, pulling, ruffling… the only thing she didn’t do was take it for a spin on the dance floor. Now that will have to wait for a year or so… and might very include a pair of mom’s high-heals.

Au naturel, chubby, and loving it

Au naturel, chubby, and loving it

A cherubic chubby Natalie goes “au naturel” and does some posing on the bed. At nearly 5 months old here, she shows off her rolls. Can’t say I blame her.. can’t be much fun being wrapped up in smelly diapers all day.

Natalie’s first Vacation. Destination: San Diego

Our first family vacation with Natalie (outside the womb). We headed down to a resort called Paradise Point in San Diego and met up with Julie, Lee, Coby and Ava. It turned out to be a beautiful Easter weekend with the rain holding until we left.

Visiting Uncle Garrick, Baxtor the cat and the fish

Visiting Uncle Garrick, Baxtor the cat and the fish

Natalie visits uncle Garrick’s place and is welcomed by the typically relentlessly curious Baxtor the cat. As expected, Natalie’s curiosity for the aquarium and the fish came to light instantly. Her obsession for fish will no doubt continue, but we’ll see how she responds to Baxtor next time around.

Sneezes, Coo’s and Smiles (Video)

Sneezes, Coo’s and Smiles (Video)

Natalie has finally started smiling more and frowning less. The smiling actually started around 6 weeks, but this was the first time we caught it on “film” (at around 9 weeks). She’s also trying to talk — not quite sure what she’s attempting to say, but it’s expression never-the-less. Finally something for US to smile about, after we’ve been dragged down colic street.

A 7 week old Natalie enjoying a nice warm bath before bed.  Something we’ve definitely noticed is how she opens her mouth when enjoying something.  Also, take a look at the amusing video below.

Natalie’s welcome home party

Natalie’s welcome home party

Denise’s side of the family came over to our house to welcome 6 week old Natalie into the world. A kind of “post-birth” baby shower.

Grandma holding Natalie

Dad (me)  holding Natalie

Michael holding Natalie – getting a rude awakening from her colicky screams. You would never guess from this photo though.

Frowning as usual.

Frowning has now become darn right belligerent. Notice her Kung Fu fighting stance.

Michael joes Joesph something. Not sure Joseph is very interested though.

And who could forget Max. The furry baby and big brother.

6 weeks old and focusing

6 weeks old and focusing

Natalie is really starting to track and focus on things with her eyes. Whether it’s her toys, Manchester United on the telly, or the mysterious green stuff in the garden… her eyes are now working overtime!

Below, she focuses on catching up on some sleep.

Nearly a month old!

Nearly a month old!

Here Natalie is nearly a month old – trying out Grandma’s homemade shawl and hat.  She’s really enjoying looking out the windows now, and her eyes are getting bigger and brighter by the day.

Max is never far away from Natalie.

Natalie’s First Christmas (2009)

Here are some of the latest photos, taken over the last couple of weeks around Christmas.

Here she is in her “My first Christmas” outfit. Thanks Dawn! Here, she’s nearly 3 weeks old.

Here, she’s about 2 weeks old

Happy Holidays everyone! (Christmas 2009)

Natalie 1 week old!

Here Natalie is already over a week old! Finger nails have been cut, hair has grown and her face is turning pinker. Notice her hands raised as she sleeps – her signature sleeping style. Thanks to Grandma for the warm and cosy jacket.

Eyes wide open (4 Days Old)

At 4 days old, Natalie is really starting to open her eyes and inspect her surroundings. Things that she finds fascinating are: the Christmas tree, ceiling fans and the golf course. In the photo below, she’s wearing Grandmother’s newly knitted jacket, and a double chin.

Below, she’s “zonked” out in her Rainforest Swing. She absolutely loves the rocking motion and the jungle sounds.

Home, at last! (2 Days Old)

After a couple of days in the hospital, Natalie is allowed to come home where she is met by a curious Coco and jealous Max. To be fair, Max has already adjusted after only a few hours.  Notice her incredibly long fingers.. destined to be a pianist like her mom?

Thanks to Jericoh, Marianne and Dawn for throwing the most amazing baby shower. It was hosted in Jericho’s Moroccan beautiful home, on the Naples canals.

These little guys are definitely snuggle-ready! The books are written as sweet rhyming stories that convey heartfelt sentiments of love. ManBabies.com – love it or hate it

Without question, ManBabies.com is just plan weird. But depending on your sense of humor, it’s pretty funny too! Basically, people take photos of dads and babies, and then using that weapon called Photoshop, they swap the heads around. Check it out!
